Trifonic production blog is live: Next Step Audio

Happy 2010! As the holidays season winds down, Brian and I are looking forward to an exciting, productive new year. I hope you are too.

A few months ago we mentioned we’d be launching a production blog, and I’m happy to say that it’s finally here: NextStepAudio.com.

The idea behind Next Step Audio is to show you specifically how Trifonic works in the studio, and demonstrate some advanced techniques for producing electronic music. Over time we plan to offer various downloads (like the free Trifonic bass patch available now) and more in-depth tutorials for the folks that are very committed to improving their production skills.

We’ll be posting new videos every week, so please go check out the site and subscribe to the Next Step Audio RSS feed. You can also find Next Step Audio on twitter and Facebook.

Please let us know what topics and production questions you’re most interested in us covering (and thanks for the previous feedback). We’ll do our best to address the areas you care about.

Hope you find Next Step Audio useful. Happy producing in 2010!

The Mighty-O is here

The good folks at Fantasy T-Shirts designed us a kick-ass new shirt that we’ve dubbed the “Mighty-O” tee. (See the pics below and you’ll understand why).

The Mighty-O is available in brown and black right here – and only here – on our store page. Get yours while they last… all the cool kids are doing it!

The event is free and runs 7pm – midnight. Trifonic will be performing around 9pm and again later in the night.

We will also be offering some new, exclusive Trifonic t-shirts at the show, printed and provided by Fantasy.

Trifonic music featured on 2 new game soundtracks

Trifonic recently had a hand in two video game soundtracks that Brian and I are really excited about!

First, we composed the title music for the new Wii game Calling. The game is currently available in Japan, with a US release slated for early 2010. You can watch the trailer for Calling (featuring some of our music) below:

Second, Brian performed all the guitar parts on the award-winning score for Assassin’s Creed II. You can check out the guitar-heavy score on Amazon or iTunes. Congrats Brian!

Live Show and Tutorial: Oct. 17, Expression College

I wish we had more opportunities to do gigs like this!

The good folks at Euphoric Delerium invited us to play a set at Expression College, and also give a “behind the music” talk/demonstration about our creative process and some of our production techniques. If folks are interested, we might also talk a little bit about our strategy on the business and marketing side as well.

The event is free and open to the public. Oh, and the venue has a Meyer surround sound system, so the audio is going be extra nasty.

Hope to see you there!

Saturday, October 17th, 8:00pm – 3:00am

8:30: Production tutorial/demonstration by Trifonic
